We may often consider the significance of what is real and what is not easy to discern, but is it really as one-sided as most think? Nathan Hawthorne explores the relationship between reality and fantasy, closely analysing how they mutually inform one another and where one begins and the other ends. Using a large range of materials and modes of presentation, Nathan seeks to create immersive artworks in the form of physical paintings, and art objects, digital illustrations and events, as well as internal realisation. Leaving threads that span these physical, digital, and internal worlds, Nathan invites the audience to freely explore the narrative in any order and to any extent they wish.
