From the University of Kent, a collective of third year Fine Art students showcase their work.

Interim Show

This December saw the beginning of the lead up to the School of Music and Fine Art’s 3rd year Degree Show with an Interim Show. Bringing together the works of 42 upcoming artists, I AM exhibited their approach to contemporary art. Working in a variety of mediums, the exhibition provided an exclusive insight into their current practice and development.

Over the course of their time at the University of Kent, a process of research and experimentation has resulted in an exhibition of engrossing installations, evocative films and a diverse display of painting, photography and sculpture.

The exhibition took place in a former retail environment in ‘Intra’, a space between Rochester and Chatham; the space, previously occupied as “Featherstone”, is saturated with history. The building was given a new lease of life, as I AM reinterpreted the space, transporting it to the present. After Christmas the space will be redeveloped by the Coal Shed Press as a printmaking centre for Medway, opening the space up for the community, through a shop and a programme of printmaking courses.
