MANDEEP MANGAT

Mandeep Mangat’s multimedia practice is about the fascination she has with strangers, however ever since she saw the Girl at the Tate in 2011 her fascination turned into an obsession. Since then, she has been exploring the taboo and mystic that surrounds strangers and challenging the conventional ideals of public and private spaces. Mandeep’s obsession has led her to investigate issues of surveillance and privacy that threaten citizens all over the world in today’s society.

She creates self-contained installations using video and audio, combined with photography, sculpture and other miscellaneous objects. All of which are displayed within an entity of its own, such as woods, cabinet of curiosity inspired cabinets or bathrooms.
