Avisa Anas' practice portrays the Islamic values of woman that she believes Media has labeled and stereotyped as being a religion of oppression and terrorism. She expresses her beliefs metaphorically by crystallizing eggshells and shows how things are naturally kept in a shell, or covered to keep its purity and protection, just like woman from Islamic faith wear the hijab and Abayah. She creates her own crystals to express the precious value and respect that Islam has declared for woman in the Qur'an.
